Captain Ryan Campbell is a U.S. Air Force Veteran, licensed captain, and the owner of Apex Recon Sportfishing Charters. During his military service, he was stationed in England, where he worked on fighter jets. He now brings that same preparation, discipline, and attention to detail to every fishing trip.

Having fished for nearly his entire life, Captain Ryan enjoys pursuing a wide variety of Michigan fish. Apex Recon trips can include hard-fighting king and coho salmon, steelhead, lake trout, and seasonal panfish adventures. Panfish trips target family favorites such as bluegill, yellow perch, crappie, sunfish, and other local species using slip bobbers, perch rigs, and other proven techniques.

Captain Ryan created Apex Recon to give anglers more than an ordinary fishing trip. His goal is to provide a safe, professional, and exciting experience where families, first-time anglers, and seasoned fishermen all feel welcome. From preparing the boat and equipment to locating fish and helping guests land their catch, he works hard to make every charter memorable.

Whether you’re battling a powerful Lake Michigan salmon, introducing your children to bluegill fishing, or simply spending quality time with family and friends, Captain Ryan is committed to giving you the best experience possible aboard a clean, modern, and fully equipped boat.
